Job Summary of the Customer Support Engineer:he role of the Customer Support Engineer is to provide technical expertise and focused support in various stages of customer interaction. Customer Support Engineer acts as a link connecting clients, distributors, and internal units, ensuring precise quotes, service and warranty problem resolutions, and creation of parts and solutions for service requisitions. The ideal candidate should possess mechanical design knowledge, along with exceptional communication skills, organization abilities, and problem-solving capabilities to ensure seamless customer journey from quotation to post-sales support. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Serve as a technical resource for clients and distributors, offering timely solutions to inquiries. Support warranty tasks by aiding in technical assessments, gathering field data, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring prompt communication with customers. Detect and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues through engineering principles and field feedback. Maintain accurate documentation of customer engagements, service problems, and solutions in the CRM system. Generate precise product and service quotes, covering pricing, options, and technical configurations. Provide technical insights to the sales team to ensure product specifications align with customer needs. Collaborate with design and production teams to confirm feasibility, expenses, and lead times. Input product and service orders into the ERP system accurately, maintaining data integrity and ensuring timely processing. Design and model custom or replacement parts for service sales requests using CAD software. Create service drawings, component details, and modification packages for production or field application. Communicate recurring service trends, field problems, and improvement chances to design engineering. Engage in root cause analysis and corrective actions to boost product performance and reliability. Enhance processes within warranty, quoting, and service workflows through improvement initiatives. Contribute to technical bulletins, product documents, and customer training materials. Attend cross-functional meetings to ensure harmony across engineering, sales, and production units. Assist in customer events, trade shows, or field demonstrations as required.
Requirements
·Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field (mandatory). 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing engineering, field service, or technical support role-ideally in heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, or trailer manufacturing sectors. Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and materials. Proficiency in CAD/design software and basic drafting/modification tasks. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/order management tools. Strong analytical abilities to interpret technical data and propose actionable solutions. Organized, self-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset and customer-centric approach.
