Sr. AI/ML Engineer

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a remote Sr. AI/ML Engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI/ML tooling that accelerates and augments the work of conversion specialists - compressing manual review cycles, surfacing data anomalies earlier, and enabling intelligent automation of repeatable reconciliation and mapping tasks., * Design and deploy ML-based anomaly detection pipelines for the RISE data migration program, helping flag discrepancies early before they affect downstream reporting.

• Build AI-assisted field mapping and classification tools to speed up source-to-target schema mapping and support consistent resolution across migration cycles.
• Develop automated data quality scoring pipelines and dashboards that give QA and program leadership real-time visibility into migration health.
• Apply LLM evaluation and judge-model scoring methods to validate AI-assisted reconciliation outputs for accuracy, consistency, and auditability.
• Create and maintain maintainable AI tooling, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer materials so staff can operate and extend the solution after implementation.

• 6+ years of applied AI/ML pipeline development and deployment for large-scale data reconciliation programs, including anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and exception classification.
• 6+ years of Azure data platform engineering experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake.
• 10+ years of advanced T-SQL and PL/SQL development across SQL Server and Oracle, including stored procedures, partition switching, columnstore indexing, and query optimization.
• 6+ years of experience building rule-based exception classification pipelines and translating stakeholder control scenarios into automated validation logic.
• Strong experience with cloud-native ingestion pipelines, production model monitoring, drift detection, MLflow tracking, and model tuning in regulated environments.
• A master’s degree in Information Technology, Science, Computer Science, or an equivalent field is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully, meet deadlines, collaborate with teams, and adapt to change in a hybrid or remote setting.

Preferred

• 4+ years of continuous data quality enforcement using Great Expectations and parameterized pytest suites, including automated regression coverage for SOX, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA-regulated audit environments.
• 3+ years of legacy system data migration experience involving COBOL or mainframe source environments such as AWS Glue, Redshift, or equivalent, including aggregate validation checks and sign-off workflows.
• 3+ years of Azure Purview data lineage and metadata management experience, including Delta Lake compaction, ACID semantics, Parquet optimization, and Azure Key Vault managed identity integration for encryption compliance., All employment offers are contingent on the successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
