Job description

A growing multi-location healthcare organization in the greater Atlanta area is seeking a dependable, hands-on IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support for clinical and administrative staff.

This position works closely with senior IT leadership and plays an important role in keeping business and clinical technology operating smoothly. The ideal candidate can troubleshoot independently, communicate professionally with non-technical users, prioritize urgent issues, and follow through on assignments without requiring constant supervision.

Because this position supports a healthcare environment, reliability, professionalism, flexibility, attention to detail, and respect for patient privacy and confidentiality are essential.

This is a mobile support position serving multiple locations throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Candidates must have reliable personal transportation and be willing and able to travel between assigned locations as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to clinical and administrative employees.
  • Diagnose and resolve computer, peripheral, software, printing, connectivity, and general technology issues.
  • Install, configure, deploy, replace, and maintain computers and related equipment.
  • Assist employees with email, user accounts, passwords, multifactor authentication, applications, and system access.
  • Provide technical support for healthcare applications and electronic medical record systems.
  • Assist with user accounts, permissions, computers, and basic network or domain-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity and other basic infrastructure issues.
  • Configure and troubleshoot printers, scanners, copiers, label printers, and other office or clinical peripherals.
  • Assist with telephone and communication systems.
  • Support conference-room technology, displays, projectors, presentation equipment, and audiovisual systems.
  • Perform equipment installations, moves, replacements, and workstation deployments.
  • Assist with technology installations, cabling projects, and coordination with outside vendors when necessary.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, equipment, and configuration changes.
  • Respond to support requests and keep users informed of progress.
  • Escalate complex infrastructure, security, server, or application issues when appropriate.
  • Assist senior IT staff with technology upgrades, migrations, cybersecurity initiatives, office expansions, and other IT projects.
  • Travel between assigned locations throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
  • Follow organizational security policies and maintain the confidentiality of patient, employee, and business information.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in desktop support, help desk, field service, technical support, or a similar IT role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting computers, printers, networks, software, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, email administration, user accounts, and multifactor authentication.
  • Basic understanding of directory services and common networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems logically and work independently.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical employees.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to time-sensitive technical issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow healthcare privacy and security requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Must be willing and able to regularly travel between work locations throughout the greater Atlanta area.
  • Must be comfortable working from different locations depending on daily operational needs.
  • Must have flexibility in working hours when projects, installations, upgrades, meetings, or urgent technical needs require schedule adjustments.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not required:

  • Healthcare or medical-office IT support
  • Electronic medical record systems
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Directory services and user administration
  • Windows Server environments
  • Network and wireless troubleshooting
  • Endpoint management and cybersecurity
  • Telephone and communication systems
  • Structured cabling
  • Conference-room and audiovisual technology
  • Supporting multiple physical locations

Schedule and Travel

This position supports multiple locations throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Daily work location may vary depending on support needs, projects, installations, or operational requirements.

Reliable transportation is required, and candidates must be willing to drive between assigned locations as needed.

The majority of work will occur during normal business operations; however, schedule flexibility is required. Certain projects, installations, upgrades, meetings, or urgent technical needs may require earlier or later hours.

What We’re Looking For

Technical ability is important, but reliability, communication, flexibility, initiative, and ownership are equally important.

We are looking for someone who arrives prepared, follows through on commitments, communicates proactively when problems arise, and understands that technology issues in a healthcare environment can affect employees, operations, and patient care.

The successful candidate does not need to know every system on day one. We are looking for someone who can troubleshoot, learn quickly, ask intelligent questions, adapt to changing priorities, document their work, and take responsibility for seeing an issue through to resolution.
