Experienced Engineer - Comm Systems in Groton

Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Civil, Marine, Structural Engineering, Engineering Technologies, Electronics, or Computer Science \n

5+ years of post graduate professional engineering experience \n

The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance \n, * Strong attention to detail \n

Ability to adjust and work to priorities in a shifting environment \n

Ability to function independently as well as work in a multi-discipline team environment \n

Ability to work in laboratory and production environments \n

Ability to travel at moments notice, typically less than 25% of the time, but could be more and possibly international travel \n

Excellent verbal and written communication skills \n

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills \n

Ability to learn and adapt to tasks that are outside of one’s knowledge base \n

Knowledge in or ability to learn how read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical diagrams construction drawings, equipment drawings, and vendor equipment manuals and be familiar with shipbuilding specifications, technical manuals and other source documentation \n

Interest in learning about or had experience with electromechanical systems \n

Experience in developing test procedures \n

Experience in integration and test of complex systems \n

Experience in ship construction \n

Experience in system level testing and troubleshooting \n
