Job description
Leidos’ Defense, Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test is seeking a motivated and ambitious UAS Systems Integration Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center - Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Technology and Certification Center. This position conducts assessments to ensure that different components of a system work together as intended, while applying a holistic approach to analyze and understand complex structures and their interactions.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in Linux systems administration. \n

\n Experience working with UAS systems \n

\n Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as QEMU-KVM, Docker and Kubernetes., Experience with advanced network configuration and management, including managed switches and firewalls.

\n Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system integration, performance, and deployment. \n

\n Implement and maintain system configurations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and stability. \n

\n Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for supported systems, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles. \n

\n Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems integration processes and tools. \n

\n Perform system installation, configuration, and support of fielded systems including advanced troubleshooting focused on Linux-based environments and containerized applications. \n

\n BS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or MS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 1-2 years of prior relevant experience. \n

Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. \n

\n Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. \n

\n Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. \n

\n Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team members. \n

\n Must be a U.S. , possess an active secret clearance or able to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance are required. \n
-
\n On-site work (no remote/hybrid options) with ability to travel up to 25% of the time. \n

\n Experience with scripting such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and troubleshooting. \n

\n Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ Certification. \n

\n Must reside in the Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area \n
