Job description
Experteer Overview As a senior technical leader, you define and drive GF’s quantum photonics roadmap, shaping scalable, foundry-ready platforms. You’ll bridge device physics, manufacturing, and materials integration to enable large-scale fault-tolerant quantum systems. You work with internal teams, partners, and customers to mature technology and deliver manufacturable photonic hardware. This role offers impact at the intersection of quantum hardware, ecosystem collaboration, and industry-scale manufacturing. Compensation / Benefits * Lead the photonic quantum hardware roadmap, integration strategy, and technology maturation plans * Define manufacturable process flows for photonic integrated circuits, quantum emitters, single-photon sources, detectors, modulators, resonators, and optical interconnects * Drive integration of advanced material systems (SiN, AlN, Al2O3, LiNbO3, III-V, quantum dots, color centers) and heterogeneous platforms * Develop scalable approaches for quantum emitter integration, photon routing, entanglement distribution, and photonic networking architectures * Lead cross-functional teams spanning device engineering, process integration, metrology, design enablement, packaging, and manufacturing * Interface with strategic customers, university partners, national labs, and ecosystem collaborators * Establish technology metrics, yield-learning methodologies, reliability plans, and manufacturing readiness criteria * Mentor technical staff and contribute thought leadership via publications, patents, and customer presentations Tasks * PhD in a related discipline * 15+ years in photonic device development, quantum photonics, semiconductor R&D, or related tech integration * Proven leadership in integrated photonics, nanophotonics, quantum emitters, quantum optics, or quantum hardware development * Experience with PICs using silicon photonics, silicon nitride, III-V, lithium niobate, or related platforms * Deep knowledge of device simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, HFSS, MEEP) Key requirements *
