Database Administrator 2

We are seeking a Database Administrator 2 to assist with database migration initiatives and handle day-to-day operational support for an enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environment. The ideal candidate will handle break/fix incidents, database maintenance, and validation tasks to support ongoing hardware migration projects., * Platform Migration & Validation: Support the migration of SQL Server databases from end-of-life hardware to a new hosted platform, including post-migration system validation.

• Incident Response & Support: Manage daily break/fix incident response, troubleshooting, and maintenance across Microsoft SQL Server versions (2008 through 2019).
• Backup & Recovery: Perform database backups, restores, recovery procedures, and routine updates to ensure continuous production database availability.
• Security & Administration: Conduct database access security assessments, review administrative permissions, and maintain configuration documentation.

• Production Database Administration: 5+ years of experience administering and managing production Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Troubleshooting & Support: 5+ years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex database incidents and performance issues.
• Backup, Recovery & Monitoring: 5+ years of experience managing database backups, restores, disaster recovery operations, and monitoring.
• System Lifecycle Management: 5+ years of experience designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining database architecture and systems.
• Security & Access Governance: 5+ years reviewing database security models, permissions, and administrative access controls.
• Documentation & Communication: 5+ years maintaining project documentation and communicating effectively in team and customer-facing settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to or basic experience supporting Oracle database environments.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Max platform hardware solutions.
