Embedded Software Engineer III

• Design and develop embedded software using C/C++ within constrained environments, defining technical approaches.
• Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events (e.g., interrupts, signals).
• Work with operating system concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.
• Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices (basic IP/MAC layer knowledge required).

We are seeking a highly engaged mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers a fast-paced environment where you will take ownership of feature development and work with minimal supervision on critical projects. We are looking for individuals with strong technical fundamentals in low-level systems programming who are eager to learn our product deeply and play a key role in system integration. This position requires working primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility., * Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development

• Core OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental OS concepts (kernel vs. user space, task scheduling, memory management, and synchronization primitives).
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, C and/or C++, including object-oriented principles.
• Networking Basics: Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, MAC addresses, packet inspection tools).
• Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.
• Documentation: Proven track record of learning from specification documents and adapting to new protocols or standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerized Linux user space applications.
• Exposure to Yocto or kernel driver development (not mandatory, but beneficial).
• Experience with space networking technologies and standards.
• DoD Secret clearance.

Compensation: Base salary range is $100,000-135,000/year, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan.
