Job description

Experteer Overview As a Sr. Platform Engineer, you design, develop, and support MES and manufacturing platform solutions across North American sites to empower shop floor teams. You’ll shape architecture, drive scalable platform standards, and influence internal and citizen developers. You collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and IT partners to deliver reliable, high-availability solutions and accelerate delivery through automation and AI. Compensation / Benefits * Identify improvement opportunities across manufacturing platforms with a focus on MES * Design scalable, reliable platform solutions for shop floor empowerment * Develop architectural strategies to support existing and new platforms * Drive best-in-class technology stack decisions across the portfolio * Apply AI agents and automation to reduce development cycles * Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability across sites * Produce clear documentation including data architecture and integration requirements * Build relationships with business and IT partners and provide technical consulting * Support change management and guidance for end users and stakeholders * Collaborate to shape multi-year platform and OT data strategies * Serve as subject matter expert for MES, smart factory, and connected operations * Contribute to technical decisions shaping the manufacturing platform ecosystem Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field * Minimum 8 years in an IT role relevant to manufacturing operations with emphasis on platform development and support * Proven experience building integrations between manufacturing platforms and systems (API development and data connectivity) * Working knowledge of machine connectivity platforms and methods (OPC, MQTT, Modbus) * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive issue addressing * Understanding of manufacturing operations, processes, and shop floor environments * Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-functional/global audiences * Strong documentation skills for technical docs * Ability to work with cross-functional teams on complex deliverables * Adaptability and eagerness to learn new tools and methodologies * Troubleshooting across platform services and integrations * Knowledge of networking principles and security in manufacturing IT/OT environments * Strong business engagement skills with manufacturing stakeholders Key requirements * Robust health, dental and vision insurance * Generous 401(k) savings plan * Education assistance * On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service * And many more benefits (per benefits site)
