Job description

Experteer Overview You will lead and shape a systems engineering section within Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, guiding 8-15 engineers and aligning work with program goals. The role blends technical SOW work (about 80%) with functional management (about 20%), driving hiring, development, and performance. You will resolve urgent program and technical issues, promote collaboration, and foster an inclusive culture focused on affordability, innovation, and value growth. This is a mission-driven opportunity to impact complex defense programs in a leadership capacity. Compensation / Benefits * Lead a section of systems engineers (8-15 personnel) and oversee talent hiring, development, and retention * Provide direction, manage performance, and implement engagement strategies * Oversee day-to-day organization operations, resource balancing, and issue resolution across programs * Foster professional development, collaboration, and an inclusive, high-performing culture * Assign work clearly, connect individual efforts to broader program goals, and promote mutual respect Tasks * Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of combined experience * Experience in at least one: System Design, Requirements and Verification, Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or MBSE and related SE competencies * Experience leading an engineering team or project * Active DoW Secret clearance (in scope or in continuous evaluation) with ability to obtain PAR access as needed Key requirements * health insurance coverage * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO) * relocation assistance
