Job description
· Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
· Build and optimize REST and/or GraphQL APIs serving high-throughput workloads
· Design efficient data models using RDBMS (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
· Implement asynchronous workflows using Kafka or event-driven architecture
· Optimize SQL queries and improve system latency and throughput
· Participate in architectural design discussions and technical planning
· Write unit, integration, and performance tests (JUnit, Testcontainers, etc.)
· Ensure production readiness through logging, monitoring, and observability practices
· Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
· Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
Requirements
· 4-7 years of backend development experience
· Strong proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Boot
· Solid experience with RDBMS design, indexing, query optimization
· Hands-on experience with Kafka or event-driven systems
· Experience designing scalable APIs (REST/GraphQL)
· Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
· Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers)
· Familiarity with observability tools (Splunk/OpenObserve/Grafana, logs & metrics)
· Experience with CI/CD tools and automated pipelines
Understanding of secure coding practices in regulated environments Experience in healthcare or regulated domains (HIPAA familiarity)
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP)
Experience with performance testing and load testing tools
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
