Job description

Reporting to the Director of Security Operations, the Cybersecurity Analyst plays a key role in protecting Mission Pet Health’s hardware and software systems. The Cybersecurity Analyst supports all aspects of IT security initiatives enterprise wide, responding to and resolving incidents and requests within the standards set by the Security team. This role requires staying current on emerging threats and intrusion methods, and applying that knowledge to the organization’s day-to-day security operations., The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this job but are not intended to be all inclusive. The essential functions include the most significant tasks and are the essence of why the role exists; removing an essential duty would fundamentally alter the role.

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of Mission Pet Health.
  • Actively monitor the security work queue to respond to and complete tickets within defined SLAs while providing excellent customer service.
  • Resolution of security requests and incidents, including malicious threats, vulnerabilities, phishing incidents, and general security service requests.
  • Process user activation, access escalation, and access removal requests according to established procedures.
  • Support and maintain access control systems and security camera software to monitor home office and clinic sites.
  • Monitor and triage alerts from SIEM, EDR, and other security monitoring tools, escalating to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and support remediation tracking across infrastructure, endpoints, and applications.
  • Assist in developing security policies and procedures, and support compliance auditing activities.
  • Support security awareness training and phishing simulation campaigns for employees.
  • Provide metrics and reporting related to threats, vulnerabilities, email protection, and phishing incidents.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation steps in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide support in the following areas: Risk Assessments, Data Loss Prevention, User Access Reviews, Regulatory Compliance, Security Reporting Tracking & Tools, Vulnerability Scanning & Mitigation, eDiscovery and Forensics, Incident Response Coordination, Communications and Awareness.

Additional Functions:

  • Support third-party and vendor security risk assessments as needed.
  • Participate in tabletop exercises and incident response plan testing.
  • Evaluate emerging threats, tools, and techniques to continuously improve security operations processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and enterprise projects involving security operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of core security domains: threat and vulnerability management, identity and access management, data loss prevention, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and email security platforms.
  • Understanding of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) and ability to apply them in daily operations.
  • Ability to triage and prioritize incidents and tickets against SLAs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive data and access requests.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across IT and business teams.

Required Education and Experience:

The education level and amount of experience which are required to be able to perform the Essential Functions. This should include any required certifications and licenses.

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT security, IT operations, help desk, or a related technical role.
  • Experience responding to security tickets or incidents within an SLA-driven environment preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Security certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, or similar).
  • Experience with access control/badge systems and security camera platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
