  • Administer and maintain Exadata clusters, including database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure upgrades
  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot the clustered environment using Oracle ASM

Patching and security

  • Validate and implement quarterly patches on Exadata RAC servers (production and development) including security updates, coordinated with Oracle Professional Services

  • Support the Unix and network security teams in monitoring OS-level security
  • Ensure all environment changes follow established change management policy

Performance and availability

  • Analyze and monitor resource utilization; tune performance across all Oracle environments
  • Set up and monitor scheduled Oracle batch jobs
  • Configure and monitor system alerts supporting 24x7 availability

Backup and disaster recovery

  • Perform database backups and test recovery plans using Veeam
  • Maintain DR configurations for Oracle Linux systems, run periodic DR tests on critical databases, and maintain DR documentation and procedures

Operations and escalation

  • Liaise directly with Oracle and other vendors on critical technical issues
  • Follow outage communication protocol, file incident reports, escalate major issues to senior IT management
  • Respond to service desk tickets with timely follow-up and resolution
  • Provide technical support to systems development teams and business users
  • Maintain inventory of database environments and software assets

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years as a Senior Oracle DBA managing a large-scale Oracle environment
  • Production experience with Oracle RAC 19c, Exadata, and Oracle Data Guard on Oracle Linux
  • Hands-on Oracle ASM administration in a clustered environment
  • Experience with Grid Infrastructure upgrades and quarterly Exadata patching cycles
  • Scripting proficiency in Shell, Perl, and Python
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Linux networking services and protocols - TCP/IP, SSL, SFTP, SSH, sendmail
  • Experience supporting Oracle WebLogic and Oracle RDBMS on Oracle Linux
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-service orientation
  • Able to multitask in a high-pressure production environment, working independently or as part of a team
  • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Available for after-hours and weekend work as needed

Preferred

  • Database migration to cloud - AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud (explicitly called out as a significant plus)
  • Experience with Oracle Key Vault or comparable TDE/key management at enterprise scale
  • Veeam backup and recovery experience
  • Prior large enterprise, government, or public sector environment
