Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer II to support, design, implement, and maintain enterprise networking environments for clients throughout the DMV region. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Cisco, Ubiquiti, and Palo Alto technologies who enjoys a mix of remote engineering work and onsite client engagement., * Design, configure, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure.

  • Deploy and maintain Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and network security solutions.
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, NAT policies, threat prevention, and security services.
  • Administer and support Ubiquiti UniFi gateways, switches, wireless networks, and cloud-managed environments.
  • Perform network assessments, upgrades, migrations, and refresh projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, performance, and security issues.
  • Monitor network health and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, and client-facing technical discussions.
  • Conduct onsite visits for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support cloud, security, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of network security best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical resource, providing network deployment, troubleshooting, optimization, and security support across multiple client environments. The position requires excellent communication skills, customer-facing professionalism, and the ability to independently manage onsite and remote technical engagements., * U.S. Citizen.

  • 4-8 years of network engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Cisco switches and routers
  • Cisco Meraki platforms
  • Palo Alto firewalls
  • Ubiquiti UniFi products
  • Experience with:
  • VLANs
  • TCP/IP
  • Routing and switching
  • OSPF
  • BGP fundamentals
  • QoS
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • VPN technologies
  • Experience supporting wireless networks in enterprise environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation., * Cisco CCNA or CCNP Certification
  • Palo Alto PCCET, PCNSA, or PCNSE Certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience working within Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Government, healthcare, or regulated-industry experience

Work Environment

  • Hybrid remote and onsite client support model.
  • Regular travel to client locations throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

They are equally comfortable configuring a Palo Alto firewall, deploying Cisco switching infrastructure, tuning a Ubiquiti wireless network, and communicating technical recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
