Job description

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for electrophysiology medical devices utilizing C++, Qt, Linux, and OpenGL.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate FPGA components, sensors, microcontrollers, and other embedded systems hardware into comprehensive software solutions.
  • Develop and optimize algorithms for signal processing, data analysis, and real-time system performance to ensure accurate diagnostics and device responsiveness.
  • Implement RESTful APIs for seamless communication between devices and cloud platforms or external systems, ensuring secure data transfer via JSON and encryption protocols.
  • Conduct thorough debugging, unit testing, and software troubleshooting to uphold high standards of quality assurance across all development phases.
  • Utilize UML diagrams in Confluence for detailed documentation of system architecture and software design patterns.
  • Engage in Agile development practices using tools like Jira and GitHub to facilitate continuous integration, version control, and collaborative project management.
  • Support hardware debugging with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, soldering tools, and content development for user interface (UI) enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development of firmware for microcontrollers (ARM-based or similar) within real-time operating systems (RTOS) environments to ensure reliable device operation.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies such as machine learning, quantum engineering principles, big data analytics, IoT protocols like Zigbee and Ethernet networking to incorporate innovative features into future products.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer specializing in Electrophysiology Medical Devices to join our innovative development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge medical technology by designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software solutions that enhance electrophysiological diagnostics and therapies. You will play a pivotal role in creating robust, efficient, and user-friendly applications using C++, Qt framework, Linux operating systems, and OpenGL graphics. Your expertise will directly impact patient care by advancing medical device capabilities through sophisticated software engineering., * Extensive experience programming in C++, embedded C/C++, Python, Bash scripting, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Visual Basic, HTML/CSS for UI/UX development.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems including OS kernels; familiar with Windows environments such as Visual Studio or Eclipse IDEs.
  • Proficiency with hardware interfaces including PCB design considerations; soldering; sensors; logic analyzers; microcontroller programming; FPGA integration; Soldering skills are a plus.
  • Deep understanding of signal processing techniques; algorithm design; real-time systems; firmware development; embedded systems programming on ARM architectures.
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP/WAN/LAN configurations; REST APIs; TCP socket programming; DHCP; SNMP; network monitoring tools like Jenkins or GitHub workflows.
  • Experience working with databases such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server for data management; knowledge of JSON/XML data formats for communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication standards including Zigbee; IoT frameworks like AWS IoT; encryption methods for secure data transmission.
  • Ability to analyze complex system issues using logic analyzers and debugging tools; troubleshooting engineering problems across hardware/software interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies including Agile practices; version control with Git/SVN; unit testing frameworks; UML modeling techniques in Confluence.
  • Exposure to content development platforms for documentation purposes; familiarity with Simulink or MATLAB for algorithm validation is advantageous.
