Join our dynamic team as a GIS Analyst 1 and play a vital role in managing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data to support diverse projects across infrastructure, environmental, and urban planning initiatives. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), land surveying, data management, and mapping software while contributing to impactful projects. You will work closely with experienced professionals to create accurate GIS databases, perform spatial analysis, and develop compelling cartographic products that inform decision-making. If you’re passionate about geospatial technology and eager to grow your expertise in a collaborative environment, this role is perfect for you!, * Assist in developing and maintaining GIS databases using ArcGIS, SQL, Python, and other GIS programming tools to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Support land surveying activities by collecting GPS data and integrating survey results into geospatial datasets.
- Create detailed maps and visualizations using GIS software to communicate complex spatial information clearly and effectively.
- Perform GIS analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights relevant to project goals, utilizing data visualization techniques for impactful presentations.
- Manage geospatial data collection efforts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to project standards.
- Collaborate with project teams on database management tasks, including data modeling, scripting, API integration, and relational database design.
- Contribute to project management by supporting the development of GIS workflows, drafting technical reports, and maintaining SharePoint documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Geography, Geospatial Science, Land Surveying or related fields.
- Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS or similar mapping tools; experience with cartography and mapping using GIS is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or CAD software for drafting and land surveying applications.
- Experience with GIS programming languages such as Python or JavaScript; understanding of APIs for data integration is a plus.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret geospatial data for meaningful insights.
- Knowledge of GPS technology and data collection methods used in land surveying projects.
- Proficiency in database management including SQL, relational databases, and developing GIS databases.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting technical information clearly.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
