Job description

The Game Design Instructor will deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that introduces students to Python programming concepts while building interactive experiences on the Roblox platform.

This instructor must be comfortable working within a hybrid learning environment and managing course materials, assignments, and student engagement through the Canvas learning management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured instruction for a 12-week Game Design course
  • Teach Python fundamentals in a practical, project-based format
  • Guide students in developing games within the Roblox platform
  • Manage assignments, grading, and communication through Canvas LMS
  • Provide mentorship and real-time technical support
  • Track student progress and submit weekly reports
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and creative learning environment

Requirements

Vault Academy is a workforce development and technology education platform committed to creating alternative pathways into high-growth careers for youth and young adults. We provide industry-aligned training in coding, cloud computing, AI, esports, and digital innovation. We are currently seeking a dynamic Instructor to lead a 12-week game design cohort focused on Python fundamentals applied within the Roblox development ecosystem., * Demonstrated experience with Python programming

  • Experience developing or scripting within Roblox (Roblox Studio preferred)
  • Familiarity with Canvas LMS (assignment uploads, grading, module management)
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring youth or young adults
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to deliver instruction in a hybrid (in-person + virtual) format, * Experience teaching game design or coding bootcamps
  • Background in workforce development or CTE programs
  • Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, Game Design, or related field (preferred but not required), * Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

  • Python: 3 years (Required)

Benefits & conditions

Competitive and commensurate with experience.

Contract-based (12-week engagement with potential for renewal).
