Job description
A global leader in building automation and mission-critical solutions is seeking an experienced BAS Engineer to join its specialist Fly Team, supporting technically complex projects across a diverse range of facilities and environments.
This is a highly technical, field-based position focused on Johnson Controls CCT programming, commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting. The successful candidate will work across a variety of commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities, including projects within highly controlled environments such as BSL3 and BSL4 facilities.
The role will require the successful candidate to travel to different project sites and operate as a technical expert in the field. You will be expected to program systems from scratch, troubleshoot complex programming issues, and provide effective solutions with minimal guidance or supervision., * Program Johnson Controls CCT systems from scratch, including developing and implementing complete control strategies
- Troubleshoot advanced and complex BAS programming issues in the field
- Diagnose control system faults and identify effective solutions with minimal technical guidance
- Commission, modify, test, and optimize Building Automation Systems across a variety of facilities and project environments
- Support projects within mission-critical and highly controlled environments, including BSL3 and BSL4 facilities, alongside other commercial, industrial, and specialist facilities
- Review existing control logic and programming to identify faults, inefficiencies, and required modifications
- Provide technical support and expertise across multiple project sites as part of the specialist Fly Team
- Work closely with project, engineering, commissioning, and site teams to ensure successful system delivery
- Take ownership of complex technical issues and drive them through to resolution
- Provide clear technical communication and documentation relating to programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
- Adapt to different site environments, project requirements, and customer expectations
- Travel extensively between project sites as required
Requirements
This is an opportunity for an experienced controls professional who is confident working independently and can take ownership of technically challenging BAS projects from programming through to commissioning and troubleshooting., * Minimum 5 years’ experience in Building Automation / Controls programming
- Extensive hands-on experience with Johnson Controls CCT
- Proven ability to program JCI CCT systems from scratch
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex and advanced programming issues
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or supervision
- Strong understanding of BAS control logic, sequences of operation, HVAC controls, and system architecture
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, engineers, and site teams
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively between project sites
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working within mission-critical environments
- Experience working within BSL3, BSL4, laboratory, pharmaceutical, healthcare, data center, or similarly controlled environments
- Experience working across a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional, or specialist facilities
- Experience with complex HVAC and environmental control systems
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation communication protocols
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting BAS systems in live or highly critical facilities
- Previous experience working as part of a traveling or specialist controls team
