Senior Software Engineer, K4B

Experteer Overview As a Senior Java Software Engineer at KAYAK, you will design and deliver features for our leading travel platform, focusing on data processing and high-performance integrations. You will work with cross-functional teams to extract, transform, and leverage data for better product decisions and new features. The role involves integrating with third-party APIs, building robust services, and guiding architectural decisions to support KAYAK’s enterprise footprint. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on code quality and scalability. Compensation / Benefits * Extract, parse, clean, join, and process data from databases * Communicate with APIs via REST or SOAP interfaces * Configure enterprise applications for large customers * Develop tools to assist in debugging existing products * Build and maintain high-performance integrations with third-party providers (airlines, hotels, rental cars) * Own designs from concept to deployment with high quality and performance * Participate in code reviews and architectural steering to keep the K4B project modular and reusable Tasks * +6-8 years of Java experience * Strong fundamentals in programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design * Ability to work independently and in a team * Good communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences * Experience with relational databases (MySQL or Oracle) * Knowledge of travel domain is beneficial * Experience with B2B systems or identity/HR integrations is beneficial (SCIM, SAML/OAuth, SSO, user provisioning/deprovisioning, HRIS/IDP like Workday, Okta, AD) * Experience with Unix shell scripting * Spring & Mybatis frameworks * DOM, XPath, JQuery, CSS * API development (REST, Web Service, SOAP) * Machine Learning beneficial Key requirements * remote work up to 20 days per year * mental health focus with SpringHealth * HeadSpace subscription * weekly paid lunch * paid parental leave * generous vacation and PTO
