Job description

SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Cloud Engineer to support the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Network Designer & Deployer program. This individual will assist in designing and deploying the BMC2 cloud, as outlined by PEO C3BM. Responsibilities include developing automation pipelines, designing hybrid cloud environments, enabling secure data and network flows, and supporting cross-domain solutions.

Additionally, the Cloud Engineer will act as a trusted advisor, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align cloud computing objectives with project goals, mentoring engineering team members, and providing oversight of cloud testing, monitoring, and incident response processes to ensure a resilient and secure network deployment. This position is remote with up to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering or related field + 8 years experience or Bachelors Degree Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering or related field + 10 years experience.
  • Expertise in cloud orchestration tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes), networking protocols, and zero-trust architectures is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across technical teams. U.S. citizenship and a current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility., * Network &/or Security Operations Center experience and familiarity with the DoW’s acquisition and test enterprise.
  • Experience with commercial class cloud and optical networks.
  • CompTIA Cloud+, AWS/Microsoft/Google Cloud/IBM/Cisco-specific cloud certifications.

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • Understanding of DOD Acquisition process.
  • SAFe Agilist.
  • Able to attain CSWF and IAT Level II Certifications (Security+).
  • Demonstrated technical writing and briefing.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud/local architectures.
  • Experience in modern source control (Git, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Experience with Multi-Layer Security / Cross-Domain Solutions / NSA “Raise the Bar”.
  • Experience with Continuous-ATOs / Risk Management Framework / Program Protection Plans.
  • Experience with Kubernetes / Containers / Docker.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Models.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
