Job description

SUMMARY: WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. is a defense contractor dedicated to providing outstanding program management, engineering, logistics, and operational support to Department of Defense customers. This position is for a Senior Information Technology Engineer that will work under the direction of WinTec’s Chief of Enterprise Information Systems and will manage IT/Network requirements involving complicated systems and security controls. This full-time position is in Tampa, FL. Anticipate travel average 25%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Configures, implements, and maintains local area networks utilizing managed network equipment.

  • Defines and administers routed network addressing schemes, VLANs, subnets, and related network configurations.

  • Supports provisioning and deployment of commercial off-the-shelf wired and wireless networking technologies.

  • Installs, configures, and maintains server and endpoint operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux.

  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and technical support for network, system, and information technology issues.

  • Develops and maintains network architecture, layout, configuration, and footprint documentation.

  • Provides technical guidance and coordination to assigned personnel under the direction of WinTec’s Chief of Enterprise Information Systems.

  • Assists with the integration and configuration of networking, communications, and information technologies into prototype and fielded systems.

  • Evaluates commercially available and emerging technologies for potential integration into company and customer solutions.

  • Supports cybersecurity activities including account administration, vulnerability scanning, patching, system hardening, permissions management, baseline provisioning, and remote administration.

  • Performs job functions in both office environments and at field test, demonstration, and experimentation venues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred from an accredited college or university with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in administering and troubleshooting enterprise networks, Microsoft Windows, and Linux systems.

  • Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, wireless networking, Active Directory, and network architecture.

  • Working knowledge of IT security principles, vulnerability management, patching, access controls, and system administration.

  • Knowledge of military radios, SATCOM systems, 802.11 wireless technologies, and mobile ad hoc networking.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to travel approximately 25%, including occasional weekend and off-hours support.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Military background or familiarity with military command and control environments

  • Experience in supporting field testing, experimentation, demonstrations, And/or operational technology deployments

  • Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, or comparable industry certifications preferred

  • Familiarity with military, federal, state, and local agency organizational structures

  • Ability to adapt to changing technical and program requirements while managing multiple priorities

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance with eligibility for a Top-Secret Clearance.
