Job description
We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented IT Systems Specialist to join our IT department supporting our growing Portsmouth, New Hampshire office.
The immediate focus of this role will be helpdesk support and maintaining a consistent, approachable IT presence within the Portsmouth office. The ideal candidate is a patient communicator and hands-on problem-solver who is comfortable assisting employees with varying levels of technical experience.
Additional focus will be directed towards Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Cisco Meraki infrastructure. Other main initial responsibilities of this role will be assisting the Portsmouth office asset management and e-cycling effort. This individual will work closely with the Portsmouth-based IT Operations Specialist as their team lead along with other members of the IT department., Helpdesk Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day IT support requests within the Portsmouth office and enterprise helpdesk system.
- Provide support for hardware, software, printers, connectivity, and Microsoft 365 systems.
- Provide patient, hands-on technical support to employees across a range of skill levels.
- Monitor, prioritize, document, and resolve helpdesk tickets.
- Escalate complex or security-related issues to the appropriate IT team member.
Device and Asset Management
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and recover laptops, monitors, printers, and other technology equipment.
- Support employee onboarding, offboarding, equipment replacement, and device refresh activities.
- Maintain accurate asset assignments, serial numbers, locations, conditions, and lifecycle records.
- Conduct inventory reviews and resolve discrepancies within the asset-management system.
- Organize equipment designated for deployment, repair, storage, reuse, or disposal.
Cloud and Network Support
- Assist with administrative and troubleshooting activities in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra ID.
- Support basic administrative tasks within Cisco Meraki dashboards.
- Assist with troubleshooting office network connectivity, wireless access, and other common network issues.
- Participate in cloud, endpoint, and network projects based on department needs and experience.
E-Cycling and Equipment Disposal
- Prepare retired technology equipment for secure recycling, reuse, or disposal.
- Inventory, label, sort, and document equipment before vendor pickup.
- Assist with secure data sanitization and maintain available disposal records.
- Coordinate e-cycling activities with IT team members., * Take ownership of day-to-day IT support and contribute to the continued improvement of helpdesk operations.
- Work closely with an experienced IT team and participate in department-wide projects and initiatives.
- Develop deeper hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Cisco Meraki technologies.
- Expand your responsibilities over time across endpoint management, asset management, networking, and cloud administration.
- Build a long-term career path within a growing IT department.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in an IT helpdesk, desktop support, or systems specialist role.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows computers, Microsoft 365 applications, printers, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
- Familiarity working within Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, and/or Entra ID.
- Experience configuring and deploying end-user technology.
- Experience with an enterprise helpdesk solution.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated patience when supporting employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with other IT team members.
- Availability to work on-site in Portsmouth every scheduled workday for the full assignment period.
- Ability to safely handle and move computers, monitors, printers, and related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred
- Experience with IT asset-management or inventory-management platforms.
- Familiarity with e-cycling, secure data sanitization, or IT asset disposition.
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki or another network-management platform.
- Experience creating technical documentation or end-user training materials.
- CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Microsoft Certified, or other industry certifications.
