Job description

  • Provide structural systems design deliverables which include structural design specifications and performing structural calculations of different structural components.
  • Perform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with industry codes.
  • Review, approve and seal construction and fabrication drawings using accepted industry standards.
  • Review and approve designs performed by subconsultant and third-party engineers.
  • Coordinate design with constructor, fabricator and client to ensure execution.
  • Develop engineering reports and licensing documentation.
  • Develop material and construction specifications, including but not limited to concrete, grout, steel structures, general design criteria, and building civil specifications.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain concrete material, installation and construction specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, quality assurance programs, and nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and approve concrete-related engineering and construction documents, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Concrete Construction Plans, Thermal Control Plans, and other technical procedures.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory authorities on technical issues.
  • Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents; prepare systems documentation using the designated requirements management tool.
  • Lead and conduct design evaluations, and verifications for various structural systems and components.
  • Develop specifications to assure products can reliably meet all engineering and quality requirements.
  • Work proactively with product line and quality personnel through process procedure approvals, process qualification approvals, and non-conforming material disposition.
  • Perform work tasks in accordance with current regulatory guides and industry standards applicable to the Systems and Equipment.
  • Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines., * Engineering Reports.
  • Licensing Documentation.
  • Thermal Control Plans.
  • Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in energy business (nuclear preferred) or equivalent technical environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of reinforced concrete-related codes and standards, including but not limited to ACI 318, ACI 349, and relevant ASTM standards.
  • Familiarity with applicable Canadian CSA standards, including CSA A23 series especially CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, CSA N291, and CSA N287 series, and other related nuclear concrete standards, is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690 code, ACI 349 code, and preferably CSA A23 and N291 series., * Familiarity with CSA A23 and N291 series.
  • Experience in the nuclear energy sector.
