Job description

  • Accountable for assisting in the development and maintenance of Kimball Midwest’s data management platforms.
  • Builds and maintains data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store data from internal and external source systems (e.g., D365 F&SCM, CRM) into Fabric’s Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), using established metadata-driven frameworks and PySpark/SQL notebooks
  • Assists in designing dimensional data models and standardized table structures that support analytics and reporting across Kimball Midwest business domains
  • Develops monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions for Fabric and the legacy EDW (Azure Synapse) to support platform health and monthly leadership visibility
  • Monitors pipeline orchestration and resolve basic failures related to data quality, performance, or availability
  • Applies enterprise data standards - Fabric naming conventions, calculations, and approved Business Glossary definitions - so curated data stays consistent and trustworthy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent experience
  • Foundational experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Exposure to data engineering or analytics tools such as Python/PySpark, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Power BI
  • Basic understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data modeling principles
  • Familiarity with version control and collaborative development practices
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) a plus
