Job description

Reports to: General Manager, Network Service

We’re looking for a highly analytical and innovative Network MI & Systems Lead to drive the reporting, insight, and performance measurement strategy across a large-scale operational network.

This is a leadership role for someone who excels at turning complex operational data into meaningful business insight. You’ll be responsible for developing and evolving KPI frameworks, delivering intuitive dashboards, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading a high-performing MI team that enables data-driven decision making across the business.

If you’re passionate about data, performance improvement, business intelligence, and leading talented analysts, we’d love to hear from you., As the Network MI & Systems Lead, you will own the end-to-end operational reporting strategy, ensuring that robust KPIs, dashboards, and reporting solutions support operational excellence and strategic decision-making., * Design, develop, document, and continuously improve a suite of operational dashboards and reporting solutions, including:

  • Executive Operations KPI dashboards
  • Functional performance league tables
  • KPI-specific reporting
  • Exception and alert-based reporting
  • Integrate operational and financial performance metrics to create a consistent reporting experience across the business.
  • Deliver real-time reporting capabilities that identify risks, highlight failures, and support proactive operational recovery., * Analyse large, complex datasets from multiple sources to create meaningful performance measures and insights.
  • Develop new KPI models and performance metrics in collaboration with operational and data teams.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations that influence operational strategy and business performance.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy through robust validation, governance, and continuous improvement of data quality.

Systems & Reporting Development

  • Define operational data requirements and work closely with IT and Data Services teams to support system enhancements and reporting development.
  • Own reporting software requirements and ensure solutions remain fit for the evolving needs of the operation.
  • Deliver bespoke dashboards and insight tools for operational initiatives, projects, and business stakeholders., * Lead, coach, and develop a team of MI professionals, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for KPI design, reporting standards, and dashboard best practice.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders across Operations, Finance, IT, Product, Legal, and Data Services.
  • Present performance insight and recommendations to senior management and directors., * Maintain reporting access controls and licence governance to ensure security and GDPR compliance.
  • Support the wider business with accurate operational performance data for corporate and client reporting.
  • Ensure KPI targets are maintained and accurately reflected across reporting platforms.
  • Provide first-line support for operational reporting and coordinate resolution of reporting and data issues., This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how operational performance is measured, managed, and improved across the organisation. Requirements

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field., * Proven experience designing and developing business intelligence dashboards that provide clear and actionable insight.
  • At least 5 years’ experience developing KPIs and management information solutions.
  • Experience gained within logistics, supply chain, transport, distribution, or other operationally intensive environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and executive audiences.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced SQL skills, ideally with SAP HANA development experience.
  • Strong experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, Business Objects, or similar BI and reporting platforms.
  • JavaScript development skills.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, reporting best practice, and analytical methodologies.

Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing analytical teams.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insight and recommendations.
