Job description

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Java to join our ever-evolving Launchpad team and help shape the future of global commerce.

Launchpad is a Worldpay application designed to streamline merchant onboarding. It collects all necessary merchant details, enabling businesses to quickly start accepting credit card payments and settle transactions on the Worldpay platform. Launchpad includes both a user-friendly UI and robust API components to support seamless integration.

What you’ll own

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Validation, Spring Modulith, and related technologies, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise applications.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define API standards, integration patterns, application architecture, and development best practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, while actively participating in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and overall system health.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, contribute to architectural discussions, and communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, driving technical solutions, mentoring team members, and delivering results in a collaborative Agile environment.

What you’ll bring

Requirements

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Candidates must be a US Citizen or valid Green Card Holder., * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

Benefits & conditions

Worldpay is dedicated to offering individuals rewarding career opportunities and competitive compensation. For this full-time position, the good faith estimated annual salary range upon hire is $113,600.00-$171,575.00. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on the role’s responsibilities, level, and geographic location. The actual starting salary will be determined by a candidate’s experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Please note that changes in work location may impact the final offered salary. We encourage you to consult with your recruiter to confirm the budget for your location and to better understand the applicable pay scale. This position is eligible for bonus.
