Lead Software Engineer Mobile App

Experteer Overview As the founding mobile tech lead for CoCounsel Legal, you will set the architecture and engineering standards for iOS and Android. You’ll shape the mobile experience from the ground up, collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver a scalable, production-ready app. You drive key technical choices, mentor engineers, and contribute hands-on code to build core mobile features. This role offers impact at scale, with a focus on high-quality UX, performance, and secure integrations. You will join a mission-driven team building trusted legal tech to support professionals worldwide. Compensation / Benefits * Establish the mobile app’s technical foundation and architecture decisions (native vs cross-platform, CI/CD, state management) * Deliver production-quality iOS and/or Android features across core experiences (chat, file access, auth, notifications) * Integrate the mobile app with backend systems and AI/agent platforms * Define and uphold mobile engineering standards including code review, testing, performance, and accessibility * Mentor engineers, conduct pairing on complex problems, and support growth in a greenfield environment * Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into performant mobile experiences * Share mobile insights and patterns with other product teams to align across the Application Experience engineering group Tasks * 7+ years of software engineering with deep iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and/or Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) experience * Proven track record leading technical direction on a mobile product, not just delivery * Experience shipping production mobile apps to professional/enterprise users * Experience integrating mobile apps with cloud APIs, including streaming, authentication (OAuth/SSO), and file handling * Strong mobile UX knowledge with attention to accessibility and performance on iOS and Android * Ability to mentor through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions * Clear technical communicator able to explain tradeoffs to engineers and non-technical partners Key requirements * Hybrid work model * Flex My Way policies * Grow My Way skills development * comprehensive benefits package * culture of inclusion and belonging * social impact and volunteer days
