Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Telecommunications Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining telecommunications cabling systems across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure that network infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and scalable, supporting critical communication systems such as Ethernet, VoIP, CCTV, and fiber optic networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance connectivity and communication for a wide range of industries., * Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low voltage wiring in commercial and data center environments
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute cabling layouts
- Perform fiber splicing and connectorization to establish high-speed data links with precision and care
- Conduct network installation tasks involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Ethernet switches, and VoIP telephony systems such as Avaya or similar platforms
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to secure cables neatly and safely within cable trays, conduits, or racks while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Troubleshoot network issues using ohmmeters, cable testers, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults or performance bottlenecks
- Provide field service support by diagnosing problems on-site, repairing equipment or cabling faults promptly to minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to electrical work and low voltage wiring standards
Requirements
Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * Proven experience as a telecommunications or service technician working with data cabling installations in commercial or data center settings
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet protocols, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and network schematics
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic cable management
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems such as VoIP telephony (e.g., Avaya), CCTV surveillance systems, and electrical wiring standards (NEC)
- Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately for complex network setups
- Skilled in using hand tools like crimpers, wire strippers, cable testers, ohmmeters, along with power tools for installation tasks
- Customer service experience demonstrating professionalism when interacting with clients during installations or troubleshooting sessions
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure including computer hardware setup and maintenance in data centers or server rooms is a plus
