Job description
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Applications IT Support Developer/Analyst to support back-office web application development, legacy revenue applications, and modernization initiatives within a large transportation technology environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python web development, AWS cloud technologies, APIs, web application development, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/Oracle PL/SQL, and application integration., * Develop and implement custom modules and APIs using Python.
- Build and support web-based applications and APIs.
- Develop and deploy real-time transaction systems supporting ticket validation and revenue-related applications.
- Develop web application frontends for internal and external customer-facing applications.
- Create visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of web applications.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, code reviews, and project meetings.
- Provide technical documentation and development tooling.
- Prepare accurate level-of-effort estimates and provide recommendations for feature prioritization.
- Assist with release and deployment planning and execution.
- Test applications across browsers, platforms, and devices.
- Validate applications against accessibility and applicable technical standards.
- Conduct observational user testing and evaluate designs against usability principles.
- Integrate third-party applications and tools.
- Identify and address web application security considerations.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations on application design.
- Support ongoing modernization and integration of enterprise revenue applications.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing web-based applications and APIs.
- Advanced Python development experience.
- Experience with Django and/or FastAPI frameworks.

Strong knowledge of:
- HTML
- JavaScript
- CSS
- AJAX
- Strong understanding of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Proficiency in AWS Cloud development and deployment.
- Experience with AWS API Gateway.
- Experience with AWS IAM / Identity Center.
- Experience with Docker containerization.
- Experience with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS.
- Knowledge of server and serverless deployment strategies.
- Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Experience with source/version control systems, particularly Git/GitHub.
- Understanding of object-oriented design and data modeling.
- Knowledge of web application security practices.
- Experience with third-party application integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial, fare management, payment, or revenue applications.
- Experience developing real-time transaction processing systems.
- AWS Cloud Developer certification is a plus.
- Experience with PHP in addition to Python.
- Knowledge of SEO coding best practices.
- Experience with UX/UI design principles and processes.
- Experience developing customer-facing online experiences.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and usability testing.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
