Job description
The Senior Data Engineer architects, builds, and maintains the data ETL pipelines that power enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI across Specialized Dental Partners (SDP). Grounded in our current SQL and Python stack and forward-looking toward Microsoft Fabric, this role eliminates key-person dependencies, enables scalable practice onboarding, and ensures SDP’s data foundation is governed, AI-ready, and secure. About Specialized Dental Partners Specialized Dental Partners is one of the nation’s leading dental support organizations for Endodontic, Periodontic, and Oral Surgery practices. With more than 250 practice locations and over 430 doctors across the United States, Specialized Dental Partners empowers specialists to focus on exceptional patient care while the organization delivers tailored business, operational, and strategic support., * Design, build, and maintain production ETL pipelines involving Python, SQL Server, and Azure SQL.
- Write performant, maintainable SQL for transformation, modeling, and reconciliation.
- Build parameterized ingestion from 13 practice management systems plus enterprise source systems across all major departments (HR, Accounting, Finance, IT)
- Maintain and ingest master data crosswalks for various source systems
- Partner on incremental Microsoft Fabric integration, including bronze/silver layer design and migration of select workloads.
- Implement data quality monitoring, reconciliation alerts, and incident response.
- Apply DevSecOps to data: IaC, CI/CD, environment promotion, and Git-based version control.
- Document lineage, schemas, transformations, and runbooks.
- Support enterprise AI initiatives (Copilot, Microsoft Data Agents, ML) with governed, complete data.
- Manage Azure and Fabric capacity utilization and cost optimization.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Version control systems?, * 5+ years of professional data engineering experience in enterprise environments. Including master data management, data quality frameworks, cross-system reconciliation, operating production pipelines with monitoring, alerting, incident response, and robust code management practices (Git, CI/CD)
- 7+ years of experience using SQL (advanced query writing, performance tuning, and data modeling on SQL Server and/or Azure SQL).
- 4+ years of experience using Python for ETL, data transformation, API integration, and automation.
- 3+ years of experience working with healthcare related data, * Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestrators.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and the medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
- DSO, multi-site healthcare, or healthcare services experience.
- Experience integrating dental or medical practice management systems (TDO, PBS Endo, Dentrix, WinOMS, Endovision, Sikka).
- Power BI semantic models, Direct Lake, and DAX.
- Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, and HIPAA-aligned cloud architectures.
- AI/ML enablement, vector data, or Copilot grounding.
- Ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 per year.
