In this role, you will serve as a senior engineer, providing expert guidance on systems engineering matters including engineering documentation, design improvements, maintenance planning, test development, software and electronics issues, and fielded system performance.

You will work closely with Government and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) teams to support technical analysis, review engineering artifacts, and help resolve complex system-level issues. This position is ideal for a highly experienced engineering professional who brings extensive CIWS knowledge and can provide cross-functional systems engineering expertise in support of operational readiness and lifecycle sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level systems engineering expertise in support of the CIWS program.

  • Assist in the review and evaluation of engineering documentation to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with program objectives.

  • Support Government and OEM teams in implementing design improvements that enhance system performance, reliability, and supportability.

  • Provide engineering insight into the development and refinement of maintenance requirements.

  • Help identify and address obsolescence issues affecting system performance, sustainment, and lifecycle readiness.

  • Assist with the development of test requirements and the update of test plans to support system verification, validation, and production-related efforts.

  • Analyze technical problems related to software, electronics, and integrated system performance, and provide recommendations for resolution.

  • Provide expertise to resolve complex issues experienced in the field and ensure the CIWS system operates optimally.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Government personnel, OEM partners, production teams, and sustainment organizations.

  • Support technical meetings, design reviews, program discussions, and other engineering coordination activities.

  • Apply deep CIWS program knowledge to support system-level analysis and resolution of challenging engineering issues.

Requirements

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience with the CIWS program.

  • Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering principles and processes across the system lifecycle.

  • Experience reviewing engineering documentation and providing technical recommendations in support of complex defense systems.

  • Experience supporting design improvements, maintenance planning, and obsolescence management.

  • Experience assisting with development of test requirements, updates to test plans, and analysis of software and electronics-related issues.

  • Strong understanding of integrated systems, technical documentation, and field support considerations.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with Government and OEM stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Desired:

  • Prior experience supporting fielded weapons systems or other complex defense platforms.

  • Familiarity with systems integration, verification and validation, and lifecycle sustainment activities.

  • Experience supporting technical reviews, engineering change processes, and configuration management activities.
