Job description

RSI is currently recruiting a Project Analyst, Information Technology for our client in Chattanooga. The Project Analyst is responsible for providing support for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, cost and schedule control, performance monitoring, and reporting for IT Delivery projects. Implements professional project management principles, practices, and techniques to develop project plans, work sequencing structures, budget estimates, completion schedules, risk identification and mitigation strategies, cost and schedule performance monitoring, and reporting. This is a remote/hybrid role., * Perform monthly cost, schedule, and risk performance updates utilizing functional organization - and contractor-provided progress reports, cost and schedule variance analyses, projections, estimates, and forecasts.

  • Prepare monthly project progress status reports. Verify contractor information and Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) milestone logic ties are correct.
  • Document implementation issues, identify root causes, and document corrective actions including cost and schedule impacts, and final status/closure.
  • Contribute to the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) packages for IT services.
  • Coordinate with the project manager, designer, implementors, and other stakeholders to develop technical specifications of the RFP.
  • Provide expertise to the Project Management Team regarding IT scope, and services.
  • Develop IT specifications for RFP’s. Use Maximo to generate Work Orders and Purchase Requests for Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Monitors PO expenditures and available funds, and provide additional funds, as approved, prior to completion of the work.
  • Provide information to TVA supply chain for POs to be created and sent to vendor.
  • Review PCR documents submitted by contractor and evaluate change order requests, claims for additional funds, and cost and schedule estimates relative to contract documents and industry standards.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Travels to corporate offices and project sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Project Management ideally in the Information Technology field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business management, or technical field, or equivalent education, training and/or related work experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE Certification
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience project cost and schedule planning and control

Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Experience working with conceptual, preliminary and detailed cost reports
  • Experience in, engineering or electrical power system environment desirable
  • PC software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Statistical analysis
  • Interpretation of engineering data and drawing information
  • Engineering Economy
  • Value Engineering concepts & methods
  • Benchmarking methods
  • General Financial & Accounting Practices
  • Understanding of IT systems
  • Engineering & Administrative procedures, policies, standards, safety rules
