Embedded Software Engineer (Ada)

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with Ada programming experience to support advanced missile and defense programs at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) in Orlando, Florida.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of mission-critical embedded software used in some of the nation’s most advanced defense systems. The selected engineer will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software design, coding, integration, testing, and system qualification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain real-time embedded software using the Ada programming language.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including:
• Requirements analysis
• Software architecture and design
• Coding and implementation
• Integration
• Formal qualification testing
• Support software and hardware integration activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues during development and testing.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reliable software for defense applications.
• Participate in software reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Support continuous improvement of software development processes.

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in:
• Computer Engineering
• Computer Science
• Electrical Engineering
• Or a closely related technical discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing real-time embedded software using the Ada programming language
• Minimum 3 years of software and hardware integration/testing experience
• Ability to work onsite in Orlando, FL
• Ability to work a 4/10 schedule (Monday-Thursday, First Shift)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with VxWorks RTOS
• GitLab CI/CD pipeline experience
• Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military programs
• Familiarity with software verification and validation processes, * Active Secret Clearance required before start date
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to work onsite in Orlando, Florida
