Job description

Role: Forward Deployment Engineer (Full Stack)Location: New York City (Onsite)Tenure: 4 months (with potential for extension)Start Date: As soon as possible, * Extend the existing prototype directly within the client’s environment and on the client’s real data, not a rebuild from scratch, preserving what already works while closing gaps.

  • Work side-by-side with client stakeholders to shape the target application, whether that ends up being the agentic
  • experience demoed or a more conventional UI + backend build, depending on requirements as they firm up.
  • Build and iterate quickly on functional prototypes, translating evolving business requirements into working screens, flows, and logic in near real time.
  • Integrate calculation logic with the client’s data-product / DBT layer per the client’s architecture, while also supporting an in-app configuration option for business rules where the client prefers that flexibility.
  • Lead the iterative cycle with the client’s business users through to a perfected prototype that both sides agree will serve as the basis for the full production build.
  • Make and document pragmatic technical decisions on tech stack, structure, and scope, in partnership with the engagement lead and the client’s technical stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact onsite, surfacing risks, trade-offs, and open questions (e.g., extend-vsrebuild, agentic-vs-conventional, stack choices) to the client and engagement lead as they arise.

Requirements

We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack / Forward-Deployed Engineer with 5-10 years of experience who can rapidly build and iterate prototypes, work directly with business stakeholders, and leverage modern cloud and AI-assisted development tools. Strong React, API, cloud, and database experience is required, with prior client-facing or embedded engineering experience preferred., * Full-stack development experience with the ability to independently design, build, and demo working prototypes.

  • Comfort working directly with business stakeholders in an onsite, client-facing capacity.
  • Experience with modern cloud and web stacks (e.g., AWS, microservices, React, REST/ GraphQL APIs, NoSQL data
  • stores such as DynamoDB) or the ability to ramp quickly on the client’s chosen stack.
  • Experience integrating application logic with data/analytics layers (e.g., dbt-based data products) is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed, embedded, or client-onsite engineering role is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication skills - able to translate technical trade-offs for a business audience and vice versa.
  • Whether calculation logic is fed purely from the data-product / DBT layer, or needs in-app configurability, per client architecture preference.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or Claude
