Job description
We’re hiring a Project Manager to own our projects from award through final billing - not just field supervision, but the full commercial lifecycle of each job. You’ll be the single point of accountability for schedule, materials, customer communication, financial performance, and closeout across a portfolio of concurrent projects ranging from small tenant improvements to multi-phase public works.
This is an office-based role at our Chino headquarters working closely with estimating, purchasing, operations, accounting, and field crews.
What You’ll Do
Planning & Scheduling
- Build and maintain project schedules; set realistic start dates, milestones, and manpower plans in coordination with our operations team
- Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on multi-trade job sites
Materials & Procurement
- Review estimates and scopes of work at project kickoff; generate accurate bills of material
- Drive material ordering with purchasing - including long-lead-time equipment - and track receiving, staging, and delivery to the job site so crews never wait on parts
Customer Communication & Reporting
- Produce weekly written status reports to customers covering progress, schedule, open issues, and upcoming work
- Run internal status reporting so leadership has real-time visibility into every job
- Serve as the day-to-day customer contact for assigned projects
Financial Management
- Own progress billing: prepare monthly pay applications / schedule-of-values billings, track retention, and make sure invoices go out on time
- Forecast job profitability throughout the project - track committed costs, labor burn, and change orders against budget, and flag margin erosion early
- Prepare, price, and negotiate change orders; protect scope
Project Closeout
- Drive closeout deliverables (as-builts, test results, O&M documentation, training) and final billing to completion
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience in low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, security, or a related construction trade
- Demonstrated ownership of project financials - budgets, cost tracking, progress billing, and margin forecasting (not just field coordination)
- Experience with public works / prevailing wage projects strongly preferred (schools, municipalities, transportation); familiarity with certified payroll requirements a plus
- Strong written communication - you’ll produce customer-facing reports every week
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with project management or construction software a plus
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once
- Valid driver’s license; occasional local job site visits across Southern California
Bonus points for:
- RCDD, PMP, or CTS credentials
- Hands-on background in structured cabling, IP video, access control, or networking
- Experience working under Division 27/28 specifications, * Do you have 3+ years of project management experience in low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, security, or a related construction trade?
- Do you have experience managing public works or prevailing wage construction projects?
- Have you directly managed project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, progress billing, and margin forecasting?
- Are you able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work?
- Are you comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget requirements?
- Do you possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation?
- Are you willing and able to travel periodically to job sites throughout Southern California?
