Senior Storage Engineer

Experteer Overview As Senior Storage Engineer, you design and operate enterprise data protection solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments to ensure recoverability and cyber resilience. You will lead architecture, upgrades, and modernization of backup platforms, acting as a senior technical authority for complex recovery challenges. You collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to drive operational excellence and enforce governance. This role offers impact through shaping enterprise protection strategies and ransomware resilience. You will work with IBM, Rubrik, and Commvault ecosystems to enable scalable data protection. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery architectures for critical systems * Engineer scalable, resilient backup solutions across physical, virtual, cloud, SaaS, and containerized environments * Develop backup standards, runbooks, and documentation * Lead platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives * Set recovery service levels, objectives, and testing standards * Administer and engineer data protection platforms (IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Rubrik, Commvault, cloud-native backups) * Platform architecture, capacity planning, performance tuning, security hardening, lifecycle management * Troubleshoot, escalate, and provide governance for data protection services * Design and implement cyber recovery strategies with DR teams, focusing on ransomware preparedness * Contribute to enterprise architecture reviews and standards for data protection services * Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, Ansible; automate provisioning, reporting, monitoring, and workflows * Create dashboards and reporting for operational visibility and compliance * Lead onboarding for new workloads into enterprise backup services * Collaborate with IBM, Rubrik, Dell, Microsoft for evaluations and roadmaps * Partner with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and operations teams to deliver solutions Tasks * 7+ years of enterprise backup, storage, or data protection experience * 5+ years with one or more enterprise backup platforms (IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, Rubrik, Dell PPDM) * Experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise backup environments * Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies and infrastructure * Experience supporting VMware, Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms * Experience with scripting and automation * Demonstrated project management experience Key requirements * medical, dental and vision benefits * 401(k) retirement savings plan * paid time off and holidays * paid parental and caregiver leave * short-term and long-term disability * life insurance
