Job description
The Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) position will support the government customer in migrating legacy modeling, simulation, and analysis tools, algorithms, applications, and processes for missile performance analyses into a cloud-native digital engineering pipeline in a phased approach. The primary phase will focus on creating, updating, and refactoring MBSE models and libraries that represent a full end-to-end missile model; these models must be created in the Systems Modeling Language (SysML). Elements of the SysML include, at a minimum, requirements, structures (e.g., mass moments of inertia), and parametric characteristics (e.g., specific impulse). The position requires an active Top Secret Clearance., * Host missile models in SysML using existing engineering data analyses, alongside subject-matter experts.
- Create a scalable workflow for generating new missile models in SysML.
- Apply and test that scalable workflow on a single missile model.
- Constructively work with our customers to optimize the SysML model development workflow.
Requirements
- Bachelorās degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in systems engineering or related experience.
- Proven experience applying MBSE to aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering fields.
- Basic knowledge of programming concepts and object-oriented programming.
- Creating MBSE models via the SysML or other MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw).
- Having an MBSE certification and training (e.g., Object Management Group, International Council on Systems Engineering, etc.).
- Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers to identify modeling requirements.
- Demonstrated conscientious and collaborative work habits to help our customers adopt MBSE for missile performance analyses., * 5 or more years of experience applying SysML for aerospace engineering applications (design of rocket propulsion systems, phased array antenna sensor systems, or other complex areas).
- Experience with SysML v2.
- Working knowledge of the United Architecture Framework and the Department of Defense Architecture Framework.
- Modeling and simulation experience using AFSIM to include plugin development, architecture, and integration methodologies.
- Proven experience developing models for weapon systems/vehicles for wartime scenarios.
- Multi-disciplinary expertise with proficiency in at least one additional technical area.
Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
