Job description

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Systems Engineer at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you deliver your best every day.

Our work depends on the Systems Engineer joining our team to support the deployment of systems and capabilities centered on our comprehensive motion imagery software suite. The Systems Engineer will support operations of a non-internet accessible on-prem hybrid environment built primarily on Kubernetes.

Requirements

DevOps,Engineering,Systems Design, 10 + years of related experience, * Development and/or scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Java, C#, etc)

  • Linux OS experience
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Source code management tools (Git, etc) and artifact repositories (Nexus/Atifactory, container registries, etc)
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Rundeck, etc
  • Experience with build/packaging tools such as Gradle, Maven Poetry, etc

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • 10+ years of related DevOps engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, OR equivalent 14 years job-related experience
  • Demonstrated experience employing DevSecOps principles, including strict configuration management, configuration-as-code, and continuous delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in building, securing, and operating containers in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working in a Kubernetes-based environment, including:
  • A basic understanding of how Kubernetes works
  • Experience using and/or administering Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience building and deploying workloads using Helm
  • Knowledge of container and Linux host networking
  • Experience with Apache Kafka
  • Experience with Elastic stack
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Location: At Customer Site - Herndon area

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
