Requirements

  • 5+ years (preferably 8-10+) hands-on experience as an RPG Programmer / Analyst on IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries)

  • Strong proficiency in:

  • RPG IV / RPG ILE / RPG Free (RPGLE)
  • CL / CLLE
  • Embedded SQL / SQLRPGLE
  • DDS, display files, printer files, and subfile programming

Demonstrated experience supporting or customizing applications in a transportation / LTL / trucking environment

Experience with heavy customization of packaged or legacy systems (not only vanilla maintenance)

Ability to read, understand, and safely modify large, complex, long-lived RPG codebases

Solid understanding of IBM i development lifecycle, debugging, and production support practices

Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work with non-technical operations users
