Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack, Google Fi

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward., * Lead, design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable infrastructure and products.

• Drive and participate in the design, development, and delivery of AI/ML and agentic solutions for the product.
• Lead engineering excellence on the commerce platform, focusing on performance, reliability, monitoring, and testing.
• Define long-term strategy, drive technical direction, and guide the team to execute projects from ambiguous requirements to high-impact deliverables.
• Collaborate with data science, product management, and other cross-functional leaders to define the technical roadmap for the product.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with full-stack development across the backend, such as Java, Kotlin, or Python codebases, and Front End experience, including TypeScript or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience building end-user-facing products.
• 3 years of experience in ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (eg, model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• Experience working with cross-functional leaders including product managers, data scientists, and UX designers across the globe.
• Excellent technical leadership skills with the ability to define ideas, strategies, and priorities.
• Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills.

The US base salary range for this Full time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
