Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Supplier Quality Engineer for our Machining & Fabrication Product Center supporting various mod center parts. The module center serviced provides both manufactures and procures various engine hot section components such as airfoils, turbine castings, nozzles, and other critical components for multiple commercial and military engine programs. This SQE team is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer’s dynamic needs. As part of the Supply Chain Quality Group, a major focus of this role is to support suppliers’ quality as well as providing quality interface, expertise, and support to its suppliers, and to explore proactive initiatives to improve our processes in improving the suppliers quality signature, and in turn provide a quality product to our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive process improvements across the board in escape management, standard work, and best practices, and promote a culture of continuous improvement using CORE tools (Standard Work, DIVEs, mistake proofing, etc.).

  • Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering in supplier escapes resolution and to execute Supply Chain quality improvement plans with suppliers to improve quality signature and ensure customer confidence.

  • Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews for continuous improvement and establish VCAB’s with critical suppliers and initiate and execute improvement projects., Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, quality or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience and knowledge of quality procedures, quality management systems, AS9100 and regulatory agency requirements. In-depth understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality systems compliance in aerospace and related industries.

  • Creative troubleshooting skills. Able to craft clear communications across teams and organization. Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers (such as DCMA, FAA).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements.

  • Working knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement principles and data analysis, i.e., Six Sigma, Red-X, Lean, CORE, QCPC, DIVE. Experienced in developing and mentoring other leaders.

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
