- Assist in developing system architecture and ensure alignment with project requirements using tools such as SysML and requirements management software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define system specifications, perform trade studies, and prepare detailed design documentation.
- Conduct analyses including structural assessments, fluid dynamics (CFD), FEA, and systems modeling utilizing software such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, and SolidWorks.
- Support engineering development testing, validation activities, and root cause analysis to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Help manage project schedules, facilitate technical reviews, and ensure compliance with standards such as AS9100, FAA regulations, DoD requirements, and ASME codes.
- Use CAD software like CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks for 3D modeling related to product design and assembly.
- Participate in requirements analysis sessions across teams to ensure clear communication of technical specifications and project goals.
- Assist in testing operator interfaces on various platforms and programs.
- Communicate effectively with software developers to clarify requirements and use cases when necessary.
- Support efforts to obtain security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ within 12 months.
- Maintain active DOD TS/SCI clearance as required.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Systems Engineering to contribute to aerospace and defense projects. This role involves supporting system design, integration, and testing activities within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of systems engineering principles, experience with aerospace systems, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Your expertise will support the development of solutions that adhere to industry standards and customer specifications, emphasizing safety, reliability, and performance., * Bachelor’s Degree with at least 6 years of relevant systems engineering experience; or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of experience; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience working as a Subject Matter Expert in systems or software engineering related to operator interfaces.
- Proficiency with project scheduling tools and techniques for timely delivery.
- Skilled in CAD software including CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks; simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink; programming skills in Python, C/C++, and familiarity with automation/data analysis environments.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace engineering principles such as aerodynamics (fluid dynamics), structural analysis (FEA), systems engineering processes, and aerospace design standards.
- Experience with requirements management tools like IBM DOORS or JIRA/Confluence within Agile frameworks.
- Familiarity with aerospace components including airframes and avionics systems; understanding of military standards (DoD experience preferred).
- Strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities for leading cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments.
Benefits & conditions
Pay: $97,924.99 - $130,000.00 per year
