team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first
strategy.
As the Finance Director leading the Data Center Innovation team, you will lead a finance team that
partners with Datacenter engineering to shape data center form-factor economics and
evaluate emerging technologies. You will turn complex infrastructure and supply decisions
into clear financial narratives for senior leaders and set the standard for how the organization
prioritizes multi-year, capital-intensive investments. This role is based in Redmond, WA, with
flexible work options available.
Responsibilities

Lead financial evaluation and modeling of emerging technologies and drive prioritization,tracking, and NPV-based ranking of the innovation portfolio with Engineering.

Own the financial assessment of Microsoft’s data center form factors - tradeoffs, costs, andoptimization across SKUs, partnering with DC Engineering.

Own end-to-end LLE capital analytics and lead sourcing and contract economics withprocurement and engineering.

Drive portfolio-level alignment for data center investments across different form factors.

Synthesize diverse data sources into clear executive summaries for leadership decision
Requirements
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports., * Deep experience in DC Design and/or Server Design
- Experience in infrastructure finance, project finance, real assets investing, corporate development, or investment banking.
- 5+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.
- 5+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.
- 5+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
- 3+ years experience managing direct reports.
Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
