Job description

The Enclosure Weld Support will use a hand, pneumatic and power tools to clean, polish and grind metal components per specifications in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Training will be administered by the Enclosure Weld Lead.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am (OT as required) $3.00 shift premium for 2nd Shift!

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Must be able to read and interpret tags to efficiently maintain our traceability of the components.
  • PPE shall be worn at all times while in the shop.
  • Only operate equipment for which they have been formally trained.
  • Follow all United Alloy safety regulations and policies during the use of grinders, sanders, and stud guns.
  • Cleaning materials using a DA sander, grinder and or hand tools.
  • Moving materials from the welding area to the paint department utilizing a pallet and pallet jack.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • The individual must have an exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • Must pass a UAI AWS D1.1 welding test
  • The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure and calipers, basic hand tools and air tools
  • Must be able to determine material types and gauges
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist

Work Environment: Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease. Ability to work in an environment that may be either hot, cold or humid.
