AZURE CLOUD SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

As our Azure Cloud Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping organizations confidently embrace the power of Microsoft Azure. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing position that blends strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution. You’ll partner with leadership to evaluate existing Azure cloud deployments, design secure and scalable Azure solutions, lead cloud migrations, implement modern infrastructure, and provide ongoing guidance that helps clients maximize the value of their cloud investment. Unlike traditional enterprise organizations where architecture and engineering are divided between multiple teams, this role offers end-to-end ownership, from initial discovery and solution design through implementation, optimization, and long-term success. • Partner with clients to understand their business goals, operational needs, and technical challenges.
• Conduct Azure readiness assessments and cloud discovery engagements.
• Develop Azure adoption strategies and migration roadmaps.
• Recommend scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the client relationship.

Solution Architecture

• Design secure, scalable, and highly available Microsoft Azure environments.
• Architect subscription strategies and resource organization.
• Design Azure networking, connectivity, and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Develop identity and access management strategies using Microsoft Entra ID.
• Design security, governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Create technical architecture documentation, diagrams, and implementation plans.

Engineering & Deployment

• Deploy and configure Azure Virtual Machines.
• Design and implement Azure Virtual Networks (VNets).
• Configure Azure Load Balancers.
• Implement Azure DNS.
• Deploy and manage Azure Storage Accounts.
• Configure Availability Sets and Availability Zones.
• Implement Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Deploy Azure networking, identity, storage, and compute resources.
• Perform cloud migrations and modernization projects.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Support the design and implementation of secure Azure environments.
• Establish and maintain Azure governance standards and best practices across client environments.
• Incorporate security considerations into Azure architecture and solution design.
• Evaluate existing Azure environments and recommend improvements related to security and governance.

Operations & Optimization

• Monitor Azure performance, availability, and utilization.
• Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure and networking issues.
• Optimize cloud performance and operational efficiency.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Continuously evaluate Azure services and recommend improvements that benefit our clients.

Client Success & Technical Leadership

• Build trusted relationships with clients through exceptional technical guidance and service.
• Present technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians.
• Provide technical leadership during complex projects and escalations.
• Collaborate across internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Develop standardized deployment processes and implementation guides.
• Contribute to Highroad’s internal knowledge base and technical standards.
• Document client environments to support consistency and long-term success.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the technical team.

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of substantial hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing Azure solutions in complex environments.
• Experience with cloud migrations, Azure networking, identity, security, governance, hybrid cloud environments, and disaster recovery.
• Experience providing technical guidance to fellow technicians and communicating technical recommendations to clients and leadership.
• Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or multi-client technical environment is a plus, but not required.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert strongly preferred.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate preferred.
• Additional Microsoft Azure certifications in security, networking, identity, or related cloud technologies are a plus.
• Equivalent demonstrated Azure experience and expertise may be considered in lieu of specific certifications.
