Job description

  • Manage routine GIS tasks, including data management and map creation ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create maps and other visual representations using GIS tools.
  • Ensure timely updates to GIS databases.
  • Collaborate with GIS Analysts on complex projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Provide input on GIS tool enhancements., * Assist Business Support with data collection, editing and quality control checking efforts related to Work Management platform in ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online
  • Assist Business Support to develop and support web applications, Field Maps, Python Notebooks and Experience Builder projects for ESRI ArcGIS Online Work Management Platform
  • Run and support Python scripts for Capital Map Shapefile creation and Dispatch for Distribution Vegetation Management, and other business scripts
  • Remotely assist Foresters, Specialists and managers with troubleshooting use of ArcGIS Online products developed by Georgia Power Forestry and Right-of-Way team
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2-4 Years Experience in a related field.
  • Diploma or certificate in Geographical Information Systems or related curriculum., * 2-4 Years working with GIS software, tools and databases.
  • 40 for first three months, 30-40 after three months depending on business need
  • Assignment Duration = Two Years from Hire Location = Atlanta, GA area.
  • Must be within 90 minutes of work location.
  • Will be required to be onsite as required, with remote/hybrid the remainder of the time., * Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree where Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was in the curriculum
  • Experience and portfolios will be required
  • 2-5 Years of feature and table data creation, manipulation and visualization in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ESRI ArcGIS Online products;
  • 2-5 Years experience with developing Web Apps, Web Maps for consumption in ESRI Collector/Field Maps, and ESRI Experience Builder or equivalent low-code GIS development solutions in ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
  • 1-2 Years (through education or experience) building and supporting Python scripts and Python Notebooks in a GIS-centric environment.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Microsoft CoPilot for GIS related tasks
  • 2-5 Years Experience with Office 365 specifically including Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint in a Cloud environment
  • Microsoft Power BI experience a plus;
  • Utility Experience preferred
  • Vegetation Management/Forestry Experience a plus

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
