Job description

MiniMed is seeking a Sr Test Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions for multi-tiered applications. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Java and modern automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, BrowserStack, and Applitools. The successful candidate will contribute to scalable automation frameworks, support test engineering teams, and help ensure high standards of software quality, reliability, and compliance.

This position supports Minimed’s Diabetes business during an important period of growth and transformation. As the Diabetes division prepares for separation, the team has an opportunity to operate with greater speed, agility, and focus while continuing to drive meaningful innovation and improve patient care., * Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions using Java and industry-standard automation tools.

  • Enhance, document, and maintain automation frameworks, tools, and utilities used by test engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Test Automation Engineers across Enterprise Test Engineering.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Application Development, DevOps, and other technical teams to plan, coordinate, and execute automation activities.
  • Expand automation framework capabilities to support multiple test environments, platforms, and application layers.
  • Develop automated component, API, service, and UI tests to validate application and component behavior.
  • Debug, optimize, and maintain automated test scripts to improve execution reliability and coverage.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery practices through automation integration with tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD with 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming experience in Java.
  • Experience developing or maintaining test automation frameworks for enterprise, internet, or commercial software applications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, BrowserStack, and Applitools.
  • Strong knowledge in using AI tools.
  • Experience testing across application layers, including UI, services, APIs, and backend components., * Experience as a Java Developer or Test Automation Engineer.
  • Experience working in the medical device domain or other regulated environments.
  • Experience conducting automation testing across Mobile Web, Android, iOS, and REST API platforms.
  • Knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and layered architecture, with the ability to apply these concepts in test environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
  • Ability to programmatically test, debug, and optimize code and automated scripts.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$87,000.00 - $149,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $87,000.00 USD - 149,000.00 USD.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertain solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
