Job description

  • Provide leadership for software project teams comprised of technical and business colleagues to ensure strategic and business goals are achieved. Responsible for championing, orchestrating, budgeting, and directing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously and removing impediments when necessary. Provide decision making, technical oversight, and prioritization guidance to project teams.

  • Responsible for resource management of software teams by motivating, coaching, empowering, and fostering a culture of innovation and risk taking for colleagues. Facilitate the continual growth of colleagues by participating in the creation and execution of personal development plans focused on advancing software and technical excellence and strong emotional intelligence. Responsible for resource allocation for projects in collaboration with business and technology leaders.

  • Collaborate, coordinate, and negotiate with the business to develop technical roadmaps in order to achieve strategic and tactical direction. Oversee implementation of technology strategies by ensuring alignment of projects with strategic direction while adhering to standards and best practices. Build and maintain excellent relationships with business leaders.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the relationship between systems in the application portfolio as well as their business purpose

  • Strong knowledge of information technology and software development practices

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Strong ability to communicate with all levels of management concerning a wide variety of systems initiatives and priorities

  • Strong ability to mentor, coach, and motivate software project teams and individual team members

  • Must have the ability and commitment to provide effective feedback and conduct performance evaluations for individual team members. This includes goal setting, clear communication of performance expectations, ability to assess employee performance objectively, coaching as necessary and the ability to recognize employees.

  • Strong ability to foster necessary cross team collaboration, with both technical and non technical teams, to meet organizational goals and exceed customer expectations.

  • Significant experience in systems analysis, design, and architecture

  • Excellent interpretation and technical problem solving skills

  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and facilitation skills

  • Exemplifies well-developed emotional intelligence, motivational, professional, and leadership qualities

  • Positive attitude with the ability to work in an ever changing environment

  • Proven ability to execute projects using organizationally approved project management methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and System Development LifeCycle (SDLC)

  • Proven ability to interpret and articulate business requirements for software systems

  • Demonstration of a high level of administrative competence in resource management and reporting

  • Strong understanding of IT strategy

  • Strong ability in technology planning and roadmap development

  • Strong understanding of utilized software platforms and the associated interrelationships (e.g., Force.com, PeopleSoft, .NET)

  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and their application to the organization

  • Strong understanding of enterprise level security concepts and their implementations

  • Proven ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively

  • Strong understanding of full-stack development.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies (e.g., automation, continuous feedback, quality signal)

  • Strong understanding and ability to apply machine learning/artificial intelligence concepts to solve business challenges

  • Strong understanding of code coverage tools

  • Strong technical recruiting and networking skills
