Job description

Robert Half is supporting a client in the packaging and container manufacturing industry seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to help support and enhance their enterprise reporting environment. This individual will work through an existing backlog of reporting requests, enhancements, and fixes, with a strong focus on improving reporting accuracy, performance, and usability., * Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot Power BI reports and dashboards used across the organization.

  • Work through an existing backlog of reporting requests, enhancements, and fixes.
  • Create and troubleshoot DAX measures, calculations, and reporting logic.
  • Work with Power BI User-Defined Functions (UDFs).
  • Identify and resolve report performance and refresh issues.
  • Support Power BI reporting using Databricks as a primary data source.
  • Work within a broader Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Troubleshoot third-party integrations impacting reporting.
  • Support large-scale Excel exports from Power BI, ensuring exported data is accurate and usable.
  • Validate reports and underlying numbers to identify discrepancies and improve confidence in reporting accuracy.
  • Review existing reports and recommend improvements to design, formatting, usability, and functionality.
  • Work with existing Power BI data models and relationships as needed.
  • Partner with internal teams responsible for Databricks, ETL, and data transformation, while remaining primarily focused on Power BI and front-end reporting.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI report and dashboard development.
  • Experience with Power BI User-Defined Functions (UDFs).
  • Strong DAX development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience optimizing Power BI report performance and refresh processes.
  • Experience working with Databricks as a data source.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience supporting third-party integrations within a BI/reporting environment.
  • Strong front-end Power BI skills, including report design, formatting, visualization, and usability.
  • Experience supporting large or mass Excel exports from Power BI.
  • Understanding of Power BI data models and relationships.
  • Strong troubleshooting and data-validation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy and reporting consistency.
  • Ability to understand reporting needs from a holistic business perspective.
  • Comfortable providing recommendations when existing reports or processes could be improved.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently work through an existing backlog.
