Sr Manager - Customer Identity & Platform Engineering

Experteer Overview As Senior Manager, you will lead the CIAM and platform engineering team in a remote IT-Customer Engagement function. You will define the technology roadmap for CIAM, backend services, and shared platform capabilities while guiding cloud-native solutions on AWS. You’ll build and operate secure APIs and microservices powering websites, apps, and customer workflows, and foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture. This role focuses on modernizing the platform, improving efficiency, and ensuring security and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with product, cybersecurity, and data teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that impact millions of customers. Compensation / Benefits * Lead and develop a team of software engineers, cloud engineers, and product owners * Define and execute the technology roadmap for CIAM, backend services, and shared platforms * Design, build, and operate secure backend services, APIs, and microservices for digital products * Lead architecture and operation of cloud-native solutions on AWS * Build reusable platform capabilities for multiple product teams * Establish engineering best practices for DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, reliability, and platform performance * Partner with Product Management, Digital Experience, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Data teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions * Ensure customer identity, backend services, and cloud platforms meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements * Drive platform modernization, improve engineering efficiency, and reduce technical debt * Coach and mentor engineers to foster a collaborative, accountable culture Tasks * 10+ years of software engineering, backend development, or platform engineering experience, with leadership experience * Strong expertise in CIAM, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and modern identity platforms * Experience designing cloud-native backend applications, REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices * Strong experience designing and operating AWS-based solutions (compute, networking, storage, databases, messaging, monitoring) * Experience with Kubernetes, containerized apps, and modern cloud architecture * Understanding of secure software development and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) * Experience leading initiatives across multiple teams balancing business priorities with quality * Collaborative leadership style with a focus on developing people and reliable technology Key requirements * Medical, dental, life, vision, disability * 401(k) * Employee Stock Purchase Plan * paid time off, holidays, personal days * tuition reimbursement * tool discounts
